| March 18, 2005: James Neville, the incumbent Mayor of Baxter Estates, N.Y., ran unopposed for a third term as Mayor in an election held on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, but he lost to a write-candidate, according to Newsday. Neville, 51, who was first elected in March, 2001, lost to John Maher, a small-business investor with the Independent Party who received 29 write-in votes to Neville's 14 votes. |
